Background

Nikon asked us to create a film that would showcase the low-light capabilities of the new Nikon D810 and wireless flashguns.

Our Idea

Our concept was simple; to use Nikon’s latest technology to create an homage to a groundbreaking moment in the history of photography.

As a nod to Eadweard Muybridge, a photography pioneer who captured running loops of animals back in 1878, our idea was to use Nikon’s wireless flashes to capture silhouettes of animals and animate them running through the streets of London.

We cutout 160 looped frames of animals running and took over 8,000 photos over the course of several nights to create ‘Night Life’ - an animated film of nocturnal animals running through London.
